Adventures in Antiquing & Eating

As I mentioned previously I spent an obscene amount of time hitting up all the local thrift and antique shops near my parents house over Labor Day Weekend.  There are tons of great places to go in Santa Rosa alone, but we also hit up a few in the towns of Sebastopol and Healdsburg.  Of course I had my camera in tow so you could join in my adventures:

This lovely shop was in Sebastopol.

A few shots from inside:

"One can always make more money, but once a fine piece is gone, it is gone forever." -Lord Joseph Duveen
I don't know who this Lord Joseph is, but he is one wise man.  I don't think anything is worse than passing up an item, only to go back and find it has been sold.  Utter tragedy!

Owls watching over the Golden Gate

This chair was fun-but cost $80 for a pair. You could obviously DIY for a fraction of the cost.

I thought this was such a cute idea.  Outside there was this little shed turned "The Recipe Box", which was filled with cookbooks and kitchen related items.

My cottage dream home will totally have an shed turned casual library.  With books haphazardly stacked and lots of comfy seating areas.

This shot and the following come from a big antiques warehouse across the street from the last one.  Major drools over this.

More goodies from the same booth.

Trophies & still life

My brother found some gear for chasin' varmints.

I really liked these rustic hanging lanterns.

Now on to the food...

If you get a chance have drinks and dessert at Jackson's in Santa Rosa:

Nutella pizza with mascarpone.  I died and went to heaven with each bite, I kid you not.

Beignets with vanilla, chocolate and berry dipping sauces.  These were just plain fun to eat.

Also, if you get a chance, have Sunday lunch at the Healdsburg Bar & Grill:

Chipotle salted fries with blue cheese dressing

Only the best chicken sandwich ever!  It had avocado, poblano peppers, pickled red onions, chipotle aioli and pepper jack cheese.

I'm not sure what I like more, eating or antiquing.  They are both up there pretty high amongst favorite activities!

  1. Looks like a great day! The recipe shop looks cute! xo

p.s. I'm having an Ann Taylor Loft giveaway if you missed it!
