September Monthly Budget Breakdown (New Series!)

Today I am excited to debut a new series, the "Monthly Budget Breakdown". (You can read more about the beginnings of this idea here). We all shop differently, we all have different budgets, and with that in mind I am creating monthly shopping ideas to build your wardrobe at three different price points: $100, $300 and $500.

My budget would average out somewhere around the $100/month range, so this will be the closest to what my actual shopping habits are. For the $300 range, I will add on $200 worth of items in addition to the $100. For the $500, I will add an additional $200 to the $300. So essentially you will be able to buy all the items from $100 on. I hope you like this new series, and find it useful and personalized for you!

$100:

Women's Tulip-Back Top • Old Navy • $19
Mossimo Black Women's High Rise Jegging • Target • $29.99
Pointed Lace Up Ballet Flats • Asos • $45

For fall, I knew I wanted to add a pair of black denim to my wardrobe (to replace on old pair that no longer fit) I'm still in love with this Target pair, and ended up buying them at the full price of $29.99, mainly because there was only one left in my size in store and I was afraid they would not stock more. I have worn them once, and they wear so well! They are perfectly stretchy and help hold you in in all the right places. Love!

Time to replace my short sleeve tees of summer with a few fresh longer sleeve top. I always am drawn to a heathered gray, and this top from Old Navy has the added interest of a "tulip back" (you can view the picture of the back on the Old Navy site).

Lastly, a pair of flats is a great transitional shoe purchase. I love the femininity of a lace up ballet flat, and there are several affordable versions currently available. This pair from Asos is a favorite.

Total: $94

$300:

Modern trench coat • Gap • $103
Harpiee Bootie • Lucky Brand • $139

For $200 more, you can add these gorgeous pieces:

This Gap Modern trench coat caught my eye while I was perusing the Labor Day sales online over the weekend. I love the cozy gray wool lining that peeks out from the lapel and rolled sleeves. This is currently on sale for 30% off with code NEW, making the coat come in at $103.60.

Fall means one thing: booties on the brain! Not that booty, the kind you wear on your feet. I am super indecisive about what pair to buy, but this "Harpiee Bootie" from Lucky Brand is a strong competitor. The slighty pointed toe and low wood heel are standouts for me.

Total additional: $242.60

$500:

Bungalow Plaid • Lucky Brand • $47.70
Chronicle Texture Pullover Sweater • Madewell • $79.50

Adding an additional $200 worth of items to our previous list:

Let's add a bit of color shall we?

I looooove the color of this plaid top, and the super fun button-down back detailing makes it unique. Currently on sale for $48. (Reg $80)

A textured pullover is a great layering piece. Madewell has a nice option that comes in a gorgeous fall color palette of seven choices.

Total additional: 127.20

Grand total for all items: $463.80
