Recent Summer Purchases

It's been awhile since I've updated on some of the new items I have added to my closet, so I'm sharing today some of the summer related pieces I've got in the mix! Many of the items I purchased in spring also carry over to this season as well. For me, summer is a definite time of "less is more" mentality. Along with shedding the layers and bulk of winter, I also like to streamline my options and keep things nice and simple. It just feels right!

I love Old Navy's twill shorts with 5" inseam. They are the perfect length and a great versatile option for summer bottoms. Currently on sale for $17, but I'm pretty sure they go even lower. I think I got my black pair for around $15.

These cat eye sunglasses I found at Target are my absolute favorite pair at the moment. I wear them constantly, as you can see on my instagram. Target always has the best budget sunglasses!

Lucky Brand Fairfaxx gladiator sandals- I needed a simple black pair of sandals, and fell in love with these when I saw them online. I like that they are nice enough to pair with a casual dress, which is great for going from day to night in the summertime. I purchased mine from amazon when they were having a sandal sale, but I see that Macy's currently has them on sale for a better price.

**UPDATE** As of this morning, these are part of Macy's BOGO 1/2 off sandal sale! Serious deal! I would snatch up these or these for my second pair.

LC Lauren Conrad Popover Maxi Dress- The print on this dress really caught my eye in store, and since I had a floral maxi on my list for summer I tried it on. Love the fit, love the cooling feel of the fabric, love the print: sold! This style of dress comes in 13 color and print options online! This particular print is called "Creole Pink", and I'm thinking I need the "Napa Garden" in my life too.

Lucky Brand Necklace- This was an impulse buy when I was walking through Macy's (only to run in the mall to get my favorite mocha coconut freeze from Gloria Jeans, haha!) and saw that clearance jewelry was an additional 40% off. Original price was $49, clearance was marked $24 and I ended up paying $14. I always like the boho style of Lucky Brand's jewelry, and this is a nice piece to throw on over a tee or dress and go.

Gap 1969 Boyfriend Denim Shorts- These are super comfy and have a bit of a stretch. Also with a 5" inseam. I'm not sure if these are my exact pair, because the stitching looks white in these photos, and mine are the traditional, more gold tone stitching. I purchased mine in store during a 40% off event.

Fossil Sydney Shopper- Last but not least, the item I am most excited about, is my score of a Fossil Sydney Shopper on Poshmark! I've had my eye on a brown leather tote such as this for a loooong time. Wavering between this one, a Madewell Transport tote, a Jcrew Downinga Cuyana, or an Everlane. When I found this on Poshmark for over $100 off retail I decided it was definitely worth the purchase! It looked brand new when I received it, I think I have already wore it out more in the short week that I have had it! Love, love, love this bag to pieces. It has replaced my old H&M brown tote (which I can't believe they still have online!) that I have loved for a few years, but was basically falling apart.

So there you have my purchases from the last two months or so. I'm pretty much done for summer, unless I add a few new tops in. What has been your recent favorite buy?

PS-I'm working on my Summer Closet wardrobe capsule, so stayed tuned for that soon!
