I recently ran across the website of a company that had such a great concept that I knew I had to learn more and share it with you guys. The site is called Popbasic, and the tagline "Build your wardrobe effortlessly one micro collection at a time" sums up the concept perfectly! Collections are rolled out on a monthly basis, and are first come first served (the first collection sold out in 10 days!), featuring a selection of three pieces that were designed and produced exclusively by and for the Popbasic team. There is no subscription involved, which is great, although I already see myself wanting to order every collection!
I emailed with Madeline, the co-owner, to get a little background on how Popbasic came about. I was intrigued because it's such a fun "why didn't I think of that?" kind of idea, don't you think!? Here is what she had to say:
"It actually all started back in Australia, where I'm from. I'm also the co-founder of Wikifashion, an online encyclopedia for fashion. While I was working on this company, I had whittled my wardrobe down to the bare minimum and thought there should be a service that makes building your clothing collection of basics and quirkier items effortless, while still really fun. The name literally popped out of my head (excuse the pun) and I set off researching manufacturing, design and shipping processes for over 10 months.
We had so much feedback from US customers that we couldn't just keep the fun in Australia. So we launched worldwide on January 24th of this year with free worldwide shipping.
In terms of the clothing selection, I'm very focused on high quality fabrics, pieces that are lovely, beautiful and fun. We also make sure that we have basics covered, because they are the building block of any good wardrobe. But to be honest, I don't pretend to be a fashion expert. In fact, our selection is very democratic and I always ask for suggestions for future micro collections."
Don't you just love that?! I won't keep you waiting any longer to see this month's collection, which is set to launch any day now, called "The Sherwood".
Here is what Madeline says of the collection:
It also includes an all important grey marl cotton tee, which I think is above all the most important colored tee to have in your wardrobe. It's 100% cotton, fits through the waist, has a simple v-neck and washes really well!
Last but not least, we've designed a bright emerald maxi skirt to add a little pop of color and fun to our micro collection.
We also have a few little surprise items included, one is from an Australian beauty company and another is a very generous credit note for an awesome store that I adore."
Thank you, Madeline, for the insider's look at Popbasic!
They also shoot a fun little video showcasing each collection, which you can view here.
I just love all of the pieces in this collection, which will be available on the site soon, and will sell for $68. Isn't that such a great deal? The items go perfectly together, but also are a great jumping off point for so many other outfits. I've created a few below, using each piece as inspiration for an outfit.
This is not a sponsored post, just something fun I wanted to share with you all!
