6 Ways to Wear a Chambray Top!

Earlier this month I shared six different styles of the ever-popular chambray top. Denim and chambray are going to be big this spring, so an investment in one or more styles of this top will get you a long way.  Today I have taken each of the six tops that I featured previously, and created a whole outfit around them in order to show you just how versatile they can be.  These ideas can help you decide which style suits you best!

For this outfit I very much followed the clean lines of the top and created a sleek look to match.  Black denim and leopard pants add a classically chic vibe to the chambray, making it suitable for work or evening.  I used flats in this look, but pumps would work equally well!

This style of chambray looks so great over a flowy maxi dress or skirt.  I chose a floral to add femininity  and a great taupe bootie for fun!

In my previous post, I mentioned a patterned chambray top is perfect to pair with more denim.  Here I picked pants in a slightly darker shade than the top, and accessorized with a fun bold shoe.

I styled this top in a more modern way, with yellow pants paired with black booties.  I have been seeing lots of yellow paired with black lately and am really liking the combo.

With an oversize top it is wise to go sleeker on bottom, so a pair of fitted white denim works great here.  I played up the "boyfriend fit" by choosing a pair of oxfords to go along with it, but softened it all up with a pretty polka do scarf and coral cross-body.

This top is the most feminine of the bunch, so I embraced that and paired it with this sweet bubblegum pink skirt. I imagined this as a fun spring break outfit, so I added a panama hat and sexy sandals for fun in the sun!

So which styles are right up your alley?  I would definitely suggest investing in at least both a lighter and darker colored chambray top, such as the ones in outfit #1 and outfit #5.  Those will get you headed in the right direction and then you can go from there!

  2. I really love the polka dot one I think. I love the look of the boyfriend fit but sadly have found that it doesn't work to well on busty figures :(

Ryan, naturally, has two chambray shirts and I don't have any. Haha.
