Recent Purchases

Every now and then I like to share with you some of my recent style purchases, mainly when I really love the items and highly recommend them.  I've had great luck this month with my planned purchases, so I wanted to share them with you today.

Combining two of my favorite winter textures in one scarf?! This was a no-brainer purchase for me.  I took advantage of their 50% off sale, plus had a $20 Loft Rewards card to use, so this practically only cost me shipping.  This is an example of something I have had my eye on for some time, but waited for a great sale to purchase.  It is very thick, the cable knit is literally the weight of an actual sweater, and the faux fur is very soft.  It will definitely be keeping me warm in the coming months!

This is another example of an item I have had my eye on for months, but waited for a sale.  This baby originally cost $138, which is WAY more than I would normally spend on an item like this.  It went on sale periodically, but never more than 25% off, which still was a bit steep.  After waiting a few months a 30% off plus free shipping sale popped up last week, and seeing that sizes were going fast I decided to go ahead and make my purchase.  It just came in yesterday and I am so impressed.  The quality of the fabric, the cut and overall style are perfect.  I just checked and it is now sold out online, so check your local store for this one.    I've been saving lots of inspiration on how to wear it, and it is already looking to be very versatile!  I already have other colors on my wish list like this fun pink and orange one.

Every holiday Sephora really gets me with their amazingly priced gift sets.  I had never tried tarte cosmetics before, but this set really caught my eye.  First off, the packaging is gorgeous, the bag is reusable and will be perfect for travel.  So far, the makeup has been really impressive.  I feel like I should devote an entire post to just a review.  If that would interest you, please let me know in the comments and I will work on one.  The glosses have been my favorite, they go on thick, but not gloopy or sticky, and leave a very nice shine with a hint of color.  You can't tell too much of a difference between the colors once you put them on, but all are very flattering.  Also, they have a light peppermint scent that is very refreshing when you swipe it on your lips!  The mascara is also a new favorite of mine, they gave me the thick, dark lashes that I love and was long wearing.

I haven't received these in the mail yet, but I am SO excited to try them out!  After becoming interested in the set from Sephora, I saw that QVC was doing a show on the tarte line so I tuned in to learn more.  Of course they make everything seem amazing, so I decided to order these to round out my new collection. This was sold as a set together, in a two for one deal, so it is like I got the brush for free (or vice versa), which is what motivated me to go ahead and purchase.  Tarte also has a great youtube channel, so if you want to watch a short video on the foundation and using the brush with it, here is a good one.

I would love to hear what purchases you have been happy with recently!
