I've been majorly lagging on What I Wore posts lately, and my big excuse is that my photographer (aka husband) just finished 9 days of double shifts at work. Didn't leave much room for photo shoots, as you can imagine. Also, we've been preoccupied with all those pesky life issues I mentioned Monday, which has left me feeling a little more stressed/haggard and less camera-ready than normal. Which basically puts me at a negative number, because I'm never really thrilled to be in front of the camera even on a good day! Long explanation to lead up to this: I still like to snap what I'm wearing in quick little #ootd instas! Yee-haw! So to get in on that, make sure you are following me on instagram: @JackieofSPS.
I've been super casual lately; lots of tees, tanks, shorts and flips with a few accessories here and there.
Vintage style Stones tee (similar), found on clearance in Men's department at Target. I check out the selection there every so often, as you can sometimes find fun little tees like this. You just have to be willing to rifle through a few Beavis & Butthead shirts to find the good stuff. This jem was only $6! Paired with distressed cropped denim (old F21)(similar), booties (old H&M)(similar), sunnies and a heavy metal Sorrelli necklace.
My collection of plaid camp shirts is mounting as we speak. Can't seem to get enough of them lately! This particular top is from Kohls, and has a great fit. The fabric quality is surprisingly good as well. Paired with cut-off shorts from Kohls, flips from Kohls and Target watch (similar). Felt very "Dukes of Hazzard" in this outfit, but I loved it!
Navy stripes are another popular item in my closet, as I have seemed to accumulate many variations on the theme. Top, Old Navy (old)(similar or similar). These neon pink flips from Old Navy have treated me well this summer (get questions if they are JCrew frequently) and I tend to throw them on with everything, treating them as a neutral. Why not?
When all else fails, go black + white! A few bold accessories adds interest: again the Sorrelli necklace and a pair of great python print sandals.
Keeping my fingers crossed that we finally, finally get to go on vacation next week. Vacations always call for fun outfits, so I look forward to getting a few new What I Wore posts up for you all soon! What outfits have you been falling back on this summer?
