My Resolutions + Monday Morning {P}Inspirations

Aaaaaaand we're back!  Man, I feel like this holiday break straight chewed me up and spit me out.  From our Disneylad trip, Christmases at both Grandparents' houses for the girls, us all getting sick...I'm still not sure all of it even happened!  To be honest, I'm glad it's all behind us and now we can settle back into our normal routines, infused with a new get 'er done gusto that the New Year brings.

I've made a few little resolutions for myself this year.  Two main ones that I will share with you, and more than likely they will be blog post fodder for a bit.

Number 1:  Remove & Improve

I was pretty happy with myself when I came up with this little moniker for my main goal: getting rid of clutter and improving upon what we already have.  I'm a shopoholic. You know it, I know it, we all know it.  I buy things just because. I buy things to make me feel better. I buy things because they are on sale.  The madness really needs to stop.  Instead of continually taking new things in, I want to focus on what we have, save money and make all the improvements that have been clogging up our to-do list.  Lots of this just has to do with cleaning and organizing.  But on the larger scale I would love for this to be the year we get new flooring and re-do our master bedroom.

Number 2: Re-spark That Inner Creativity

Looking back on the last year, I realized one thing I was lacking and missed the most was allowing myself time to be creative.   Little DIY projects for around the house are what really get my creative juices flowing, so I plan on making and taking time for a lot more of those this year.   I already have a few up my sleeve that I can't wait to get started on!  I also want to re-work my office space into one that facilitates the creative process.  Since closing my shop and clearing out my inventory, I now have a fresh space to work with.

In light of my resolutions, here are a few {p}inspirations I have saved recently...

Now this is a creative work space I can get behind.

I'll be using this free printable goal chart to keep on track of my resolutions.

Inspiration for a quick and easy DIY I'm going to try.

Are you using pinterest as a space to keep inspirations for your resolutions?  Leave me a link to your board(s) so I can check them out!

  1. I love the remove and improve mantra. I've been simplifying a lot over the last few years. I'm amazed at how much better I feel, and how it makes it easier to focus on my family and actually living my life rather than watching it go by. Like these organization tips, too!

  2. I like that remove and improve....
This is always the time of year that I do that anyway....but usually I JUST apply it to clothing/accessories..cleaning out the old closet and getting rid of things to donate...I think this year I am going to overlap to house items, outdoor items, Connor's toys etc....its all about giving away what we don't use, getting rid of the clutter and rediscovering things I already own.

    Wish US luck, lol.
Happy New Year...ps LOVE that clipboard...but I would be tempted to wear it around my neck.

  3. Aww lovely post. I love the start of a new year and that feeling of a fresh, clean slate. I love Pinterest, by the way. Almost bordering on obsession...

  4. I love your resolutions! The first one is so simple, but can still be so hard. I'm a shopper too! And I am with you 100% on the second one (you know that!). We should start like a creativity-junkie club! Happy New Year friend!
