Sweet Deals: Elle Decor for Kohls

I popped in Kohls this morning to buy some Kim Kardashian perfume (don't judge-that shiz smells gooood) and of course wandered over to the home goods section.  And what to my wandering eyes did appear-but a new accesories collection by Elle Decor!  I didn't buy anything, but the stuff was pretty cute.  Here are a few faves:

What I Wore: Birthday Dinner w/ Friends #2

I ran outside real quick before the sun went down to take a few pics of my outfit for a night out of dinner and drinks with some friends last Friday.  Our camera wanted us to use the flash, but we didn't (nothing looks that good with a flash peeps-just sayin) , so they turned out slightly blurry.  Kind of like my state of mind because I had already had a few glasses of wine.

Yes, the skinny jeans return.  They are pretty much my going out staple.  If I'm feeling squirrely I'll wear a dress.  Actually, I'm more of a daytime dress wearer come to think of it.

I love the color combo of this silk tank from LOFT.  For my bday my mom and I went there to go shopping. I had been wanting to check out a store in person-the closest one being about an hour away.  I would never attempt that on my own with the girls, so since my mom was in town we tag teamed them and took the trip up there.  It was so worth it-I walked out with a giant bag full of goodies I can't wait to start wearing. Thanks mom!  BTW, they have kids books in the dressing room-major life saver.  Oh and bottles of water too-another major life saver.  Marathon shopping can make a gal thiiiiirsty.

Blurry shoes! Huzzah!

Top & Necklace: LOFT
Skinny Jeans: Old Navy
Clutch: Rafe for Target back in the day
Shoes: Payless back in the day
Nail color: Essie's Little Brown Dress

The Look For Less: Kartel "Stone" Stool

I fell in love with the "Stone" stool by Kartel back when I saw it in Laura's amazing home in Lonny's April issue:

And of course, since I have champagne taste, it costs $245.00.  I guess thats not too bad for some, but for  me, I can't justify the purchase.

Enter, my beer budget alternative:

$79.00 from ivg stores.  Will it sparkle and shine like the original? I don't know.  Am I willing to shell out $80 to see for myself?  Not sure yet.  But I am tempted.

SPPN Top 10: Side Tables

A nice side table can add big style to an otherwise overlooked little corner of a room.  They are great placed next to a comfy reading chair, or on either side of the sofa, to hold books, drinks, remotes, etc.  Matching side tables on either end of a sofa remind me of little earrings.  That should be an SAT question: side tables are to sofas as earrings are to ____________.  I would make a great SAT answer maker.  I wonder where I could sign up for that?

Here are my top 10 (plus a few extras cuz I like you):

Interior Infatuation: London Calling

Crashing and burning from a super busy and fun week last week.  Mondays can be pretty lonely when your weekend visitors are gone and the hubby goes back to work.  Perhaps I wouldn't mind the solitude as much if I were puttering around this lovely London home.  I love the industrial country chic look.

It's going to be in the 90's all week here.  It's really putting a damper on my trying to enjoy a nice fall season.  Pretty jealous of everyone who is already able to cuddle by their fireplaces and sip on soup and cozy up in blankets.  Throw me a bone California weather!

Inspired By: Sperry Shoes

Polyvore is hosting a contest with Sperry, and I made two sets to enter.  The theme is "Fall Escape", and they want to know where you would go and what you would do-all while sporting a pair of Sperry's.  Fun!

The first shoe I picked is the Pelican Tall boot in black embossed croc:

These reminded me a lot of the Jimmy Choo for Hunter boots I have been coveting for quite some time.  At only $75, compared to $400 I'm sold!  Here is the fall escape I dreamed up to go with these boots:

These look like an absolute dream to wear. Like you're walking on clouds!  Just imagine how toasty these would keep your toes in the winter.  I had lots of fun coming up with a look and escape to go with these:

"Glamping" at Costanoa in Sperry

"Glamping" at Costanoa in Sperry by Sweetie Pie Pumpkin Noodle

Castanoa is considered a "glamping" destination in the Northern California area, and I have been dying to go there since I discovered it a few months ago.  According to the website they are an "eco adventure resort" complete with a lodge, spa, bar and grill, tent bungalows (featuring queen size beds-my kinda camping!), cabins, and more.

Check out this article for more information on what "glamping" is all about.  I'm kind of obsessed.  My guest post over on Lovely Clusters was about Glamping style inspiration.

I'm crossing my fingers I win this one, because the prize is $100 to spend on the Sperry site.  You can be sure I would snatch up one of these babies!

What I Wore

Part one of the birthday festivities started last Friday when my bestie took me to my fave Mexican restaurant for dinner and too many margaritas.  Okay, I only had two, but they were grande sized and pretty strong.  I've come to find out too much tequila makes me super talkative and also extremely emotional.  Probably should stick to wine or vodka drinks in the future.  Mental note.  Here's what I wore:

Black ruffle tabk: Gap
Skinny jeans: Old Navy
Necklace: Forever 21
Bracelet: Thrifted
Leopard Flats: Payless

Hand strategically placed over belly pooch.  Or not so strategically, heck I'm new to all this.

I was hoping these would be as comfy as they were cute, but no such luck. Only a few short hours of wear and I already got a blister. Boo.

Interior Infatuation: Bold Rustic Dining Room

Another Monday is here, but this one isn't so manic because it's my birthday! He-yo! I'm going to be spending the day doing whatever it is I please, and that's because my mom is here to visit and my husband took the day off work.  Spoiled, I am, and I love it.  I thought of playing hooky here on the blog, but felt it just wasn't right to do on a day of such importance. So, I whipped up a little sumethin' sumthin' I like to call "Bold Rustic Dining Room".  Yeah. Put that in you pipe and smoke it.

I fell in major love with this dining table spotted on Interior Homescapes (you know-the one with the $400 mag holders), and in true way-overpriced form, this table comes in at a whopping $6,612.80.  But it is definitely the closest dining table that has ever come to perfect in my book.

You may remember the pendant lamp from my "Unique Lighting" round-up last week.

I think these upholstered chevron/zebra-esque chairs would look great around the table.

As an accent wall, I would use this stencil-it gives the effect of wallpaper without all the work.  Not that stenciling a wall is any cake walk.  (That's birthday speak.)

This console has a great shape-and it's from Sears! Wha?  Belly it up to the stencil wall.

Finally, mount these super cool snake and beetle plates over the console for a dash of the unexpected.  Fill the rest in with other stuff you love, because who am I to tell you exactly what to do?

You like?

New Items at One Sweet Find

I was a busy bee today, adding five more items to my shop.  I have lots more to come in the next few weeks too, so make sure to become a follower for up-to-the-minute updates.

Where my elephant lovers at?

Pretty copper souvenir plate from Greece.  Love a good greek key pattern.

Look at those colors!  I have a feeling you need this.

Only the cutest puppy ever.  The "Imperial Puppy of Satsuma" to be exact.

And for the item you never knew you needed (but totally do): a vintage brass fish match holder.

As always, if you would like to make a purchase, simply email me at jackie(at)SweetiePiePumpkinNoodle(dot)com and I will send you an invoice via Paypal.  You can read all my shop policies here.

Unique Lighting Choices

I wanted to share a few pendants and chandys I have been saving from my random searches of lighting websites.  It's become a bit of a past time for me, looking for lighting that I haven't already seen a million times over.  Check out these beauts:

I'm loving neutral, earthy, brassy tones right now (Hello Fall!) so that is obviously reflected here in my choices.

Many of these come from a website I stumbled upon called Interior HomeScapes.  Lots of pretty, albeit pricey, home accessories on that site.  I'm talking magazine holders for over $400 pricey. Yeah.

How are you feeling about interior lighting choices these days?  Any styles you love/love to hate?

Currently Coveting: Bday Wish List Edition

I ain't even playing around with this wishlist peeps!  Is it ridiculously unlikely that I will get these items? Yes.  But it's fun to dream big sometimes.  I'll let you in on a little secret...I already gifted myself with the Hayden + Harnett purse.    I've had my eye on it practically all summer and when it went on sale I decided to go for it.  At $118, it's usually more than I spend on a purse, but I figured if I was stalking for as long as I was, it was worth it.  I got it in the mail a few days ago and I am in love!  Look for it in a "What I Wore" post soon!

Okay, on to the others. I'm going top to bottom, left to right:

Tucker leopard print top.  And this ain't the Target line ladies!  Unfortunately, because if it was, the odds would be a lot higher of me getting it! I did snatch up two dresses from the Tucker for Target line, and I am really happy with them.  They fit great, which for a gal like me who is skinny on top, and wider in the hips and butt, is no easy task.

Hayden + Harnett LANGLEY tote in Chevron print.

Kendra Scott earrings. Let's keep the collection going!

Here's where I get really crazy:

A pimp french door refrigerator.  You have no idea how long I have been wanting one of these.  I have this teeny tiny, super basic fridge from eight years ago when we got married (a wedding present, so I can't complain).  It was fine when there were just two of us, who were working full-time and eating most meals out, but now that we are a family of four and I actually have to keep the fridge filled, it is so not working.  It's always filled to the brim, items teetering on top of others, leftovers getting lost in the back only to be found moldy on fridge clean-out day.  Gross, but true.  I mean, let's get real, I think this new fridge is a necessity? No?

A pair of pillows in the ever popular Schumacher Chiang Mai fabric.  Yes, it's a bit played out, but boy do I still love the print.  And I think it is exactly what my entry bench ordered.  I can't really stand the thought of spending so much on pillows though.  When is someone going to make a decent knock-off of this fabric already?

Large Wicker Bull Head from Ballard Designs. My most realistic item in the bunch.  I just adore this guy.

And, another shot in the dark: Front-load washer and dryer-preferably in this pretty turquoise.  My washer and dryer are the same exact situation as my fridge.  Eight years old, wedding present, too small.  I'm tired of doing 20 loads of laundry a day.  I could cram way more stuff in these and get it all done in half the time.  Another necessity right?  At least for my sanity.  Those laundry piles can really get to you after awhile.

Okay, there you have it.  And you only have until next Monday to get it all to me.  Did I mention I am going to be 29?  Not quite sure how to deal with that yet.  But I'm sure any of these pressies will make the dealing go much smoother.

SPPN Top 10: Throw Blankets

Who doesn't love a nice warm and cozy blanket to cuddle up with in the colder months?  I've already busted one out as the nights are finally getting a bit cooler (albeit in the high 50's, but still...I'm a California girl remember?).  Here are a few nice choices:

Couldn't resist throwing a Snuggie in the mix...along with the ultimate: a blanket from Missoni.
