Interior Infatuation: Cozy Coastal

I usually post beachy cottage style homes more in the summer, but I am loving the coziness of this one, the 2010 Coastal Living Idea Home.  Of course the Idea Homes from magazines are always fabulous-with no expense spared-but this one has so many great elements that could easily be incorporated into your own home without breaking the bank.

Warm Hermes orange is always a favorite color.  Add some cable knit pillows in the color and you are good to go. A dark gray wool blanket at the foot of the bed tones it down a bit.  Here is one for only $12-at my husband's favorite shopping resource!

Look at how tiny that tv is tucked away into the bookcase.  I like when the tv isn't the main focus of the room (although, I'm not gonna lie-it wouldn't work at our house, we watch way too much boob tube).  I also love the round coffee table with cross legs. Here is a similar look at Target for only $150.

Painting a room is always the cheapest, quickest, and  most dramatic way to transform a room.  This dusty shade of lilac makes a nice statement.

You can always find a comfy arm chair at thrift or consignment shops.  Throw a slip cover on that baby and set a garden stool next to it to hold your reading materials.  Bam-instant reading spot.

I really like this mirrored "wreath"-it's unexpected, but if I guest really needs to check herself out, she can still take a peep! The original is from Oly, (with price not listed-never a good sign!) but you can get a similar look here for $180, or even DIY it if you're feeling squirrley. Pick up a ton of various size mirrors at the craft store and attach to a wreath form.

Texture, texture, texture abounds in this den.  Not a fan of the wallpaper, I would have preferred a more subtle grasscloth, but I do love those round wicker coffee tables.  Here is a similar look from Pottery Barn for $300.  Faux fur throws are all the rage right now, and you can find affordable versions practically everywhere-from Target to Homegoods.

How do you feel about this cozy coastal style?
