Interior Infatuation: Rooms for a Rainy Day

We got our first little taste of fall weather this weekend when a few clouds rolled in and dropped some sprinkles in our yard.  What a tease.  I would have appreciated a nice good downpour, and all my plants would have too.  Those few sprinkles, though, already have me ready to hunker down in my home and switch things up a bit for the season.  My decorating style definitely changes with the seasons-in the summer I'm more in the mood for bright, bold, beachy homes, and in the winter I retreat into softer, muted tones with earthy and feminine accents.  All of these rooms fit well into my cooler weather fantasy:

How does your style change season to season?

  1. Great pics. Love that little orange and brown ottoman. My style has totally changed since October hit. Leaning towards warmer colors. Still learning how to mesh my normally beachy style with fall decor. Luckily I am learning that turquoise and orange actually look good together. :)

  2. I'm SO ready for fall weather. This morning is foggy and chilly and I couldn't be happier. But as sure as I pull out a sweater, the sun will come out and I'll be sweating to beat the band. :)

I LOVE that orange and black pouf! What a fun fall touch. So chic, but so kitschy at the same time. Exactly how I love it.

  3. I don't know that my taste changes from season to season, but I definitely bust out the throw blankets and comfy knits. Even over half my wardrobe is year-round - I just start swapping in some sweaters and boots instead of flip flops.

    Love that last picture!

  4. I love that last bathroom... we have a long skinny bathroom like that and I would love for it to look like that! I like to switch things up as the seasons change for a fresh perspective, and maybe throw in a few seasonal decorations as well. But mostly it involves taking things I already own and giving them a new spot in the house!
