Blogger Book Fair Returns with Ada-Marie of spark!

Good news sweetie pies: I'm bringing back the much loved "Blogger Book Fair" series for another round.  I figure with summer coming up we could all use more recommendations to help build our summer reading lists.

To kick things off, Ada-Marie of the great blog spark!  is sharing her list:

An amazing nonfiction book about a journalist that sets out to find the secrets behind the best runners in the world, but ends up discovering fascinating truths about the human body and the history and evolution of running.  Runners and non-runners alike will love McDougall's fast-paced story and concise writing style.

Beach Music by Pat Conroy
A touching and masterfully crafted novel set in the American South and the city of Rome centering around the dichotomy between a family's deep dysfunction and infinitely strong love.  Pat Conroy's best novel by far!

Love Walked In by Marisa de los Santos
I savored every word of this beautifully written novel.  It is an uplifting and redemptive account of love lost and found with numerous layers and characters that you will never forget.  I also love the "follow up" book, Belong to Me.

The Glass Castle: A Memoir by Jeannette Walls
A fearlessly written memoir about growing up as the daughter of an alcoholic father and eccentrically unstable mother.  An amazing account of triumph, redemption, self-preservation, unconditional love and perseverance.

Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen
This novel is a true modern classic.  Gruen is a wonderful writer with a wide range of genres wrapped into this book; it's dark, comedic, romantic, historic, naive and wise, all at the same time.  The characters were so well-developed, they feel like old friends at the conclusion of the book.
