Everything You {N}Ever Wanted To Know About Me

Finally getting around to answering all the great questions you had for me from my blog bday post. I figured I would let the suspense build a little bit. Keep you on the edge of your seat.

Here we go...

How old are you? Do you have a job outside of your kiddos? What did you get me for Christmas?

Well Shannon I'm a ripe ol' 28 years old, feeling the same as I did at 18 though. Well except for that pesky memory problem. Oh, and the fact that I don't like drinking Pucker any more. I am currently a stay-at-home mom, but in pre-kid days I worked as a cashier at Kmart, a "Listing Coordinator" for a Realtor and an event planner. Not all at once, mind you. A word on my Kmart job: I swiftly was promoted from front lines cashier to jewelry department cashier, but not before watching a video and passing a test all about diamonds and jewelry. You have to be well-versed in that stuff since the people buying their jewelry at Kmart are very concerned about the Cut, Color and Clarity of the diamonds. As for your Christmas pressie: have you got it in the mail yet?

What did you get yourself for Christmas??? Come 'on, fess up!

I just got myself a few little items I had been eyeing:

this bag
I mentioned in a previous post:

these vintage cork bookends:

and the Kate Spade 2010 calendar, which I love:

Jill asked:

I'm gonna go ahead and ask what kind of shampoo you use girl? The cheap stuff or the good stuff?

Jill, I am a bit of a shampoo whore in that I am not loyal to any one brand. I usually buy cheap stuff at the drugstore and currently am enjoying Loreal Ever Pure shampoo and conditioner. It smells divine and I like that it is sulfate free. I've been using it for several months now though, so I feel a change coming on...

Do you have a fave interior designer or style? Please share!

Oh lord, that's a hard one Maggie. If you follow my tumblr blog, you'll see that there are many different styles and designers that I like. If I had to narrow it down I think my favorite style would be "modern bungalow/cottage/coastal" if that makes sense. Designers that I think fit this bill are Windsor Smith, Tia Zoldan, Lee Kleinhelter and Susan Ortiz of Shine Home.

Melanie asked:

Did you go to college? And if so, what did you major in?

My mom and me on my grad day in 2003

Yes Ma'am! I graduated magna cum laude from a California State University, thankyouverymuch. I majored in Social Sciences, with my concentrations being Psychology, Sociology and Criminal Justice. I was torn between careers in forensic psychology, child welfare or mental health. Pretty broad right? I ended up writing twenty page papers on both a psychological profile of David Berkowitz (aka Son of Sam) and homelessness and it's effects on early childhood education. Good times. After graduation, though, I realized that while I was interested in learning about those topics, I didn't necessarily want them to be my career. So, I ended up working in the family real estate business for a bit, then started my event planning company, then had babies and here I am now! There is no better job than being able to stay at home and raise your children. I want to be the kind of mom who drops their kids off at school in the morning and is right back at the end of the day ready to pick them up. I am so thankful to my husband for providing for our family so that I am able to do so.

Kristin asked:

I would love to know who your favorite designer is!

Another tough one because I have so many favorites! My top 4 would have to be:

Carolina Herrera

Diane Von Furstenburg

Tory Burch
