So as many of you readers already know, I hate cooking. I am horrible at it, and just can't find the gusto in me to try and make it work. So I make the same five or so dishes that I know how to make (which are mediocre at best) and then cross my fingers that my hubby will take us out to eat on the weekends-which is quite often the case because he is sick of my five mediocre meals. That being said-I love kitchens. Love them. Ironic right? Kind of like how the only class I ever got a "C" in was Spanish and now I can't communicate with my husband's grandparents. Anywho, another thing I love are kitchen gadgets. Oh, kitchen gadgets you taunt me so. I can only imagine all the fun things I could do with you if only I knew how. I've been lusting over a KitchenAide mixer forever and nothing gets me more giddy than seeing one tucked away in the corner of a kitchen:
DominoHmmm, another silver one. Popular color choice.
MyHomeIdeasWait a minute, you're not a KitchenAide! Imposter! Oh well, you are cute too, and possibly even better than a KitchenAide, what the heck do I know?
MyHomeIdeasSilver again? I'm looking for some colorful ones here guys, throw me a bone.
BHGAhh, there we go-orange! You sure do liven up that corner, you glorious piece of machinery, you.
Canadian House & Home via Peacock FeathersGunmetal gray, you slay me.
MyHomeIdeasYellow fellow, I am dreaming of all the pumpkin spice loafs you have whipped up with your mixing power.
Well, after years and years of oogling, a finally have one to call my very own! Meet Sally:
Ain't she a beaut? I named her Sally so I can sing "Whoooooaaaa. Sally. Whew. That girl!" whilst mixing.
Go, Sally, Go!I'm hoping Sally's presence will instill the cooking and baking desire in me that I lack. Spoken from a true shopoholic, right?

i hate cooking too!!! and i LOVE kitchens. HA! we're so the same :) i have yet to own a mixer...wouldn't know how to use one if i did! sad but true.
Gorgeous! I so need one of these! Every year I say I will splurge at Christmas, but I never do! I LOVE the blue!
You will LOVE Sally! I got my KitchenAid (the yellow fellow) three years ago as a wedding gift, and I cannot remember life before it. Well, I can, but it makes me sad.
I finally got the courage to make my own pie crust...thanks to the mixer!
You're so cute -- as is that mixer!
Congratulations on your new kitchen gadget. I, too, share your love of kitchen gadgets. Enjoy!
Congratulations! Sally will be your new best friend. I love the color, btw. I opted for the plain white seven years ago, and now I'm secretly wishing I'd made a more daring choice. I'm sure Sally will turn you into a culinary genius now. ;)
AH, I love it! Too cute. My mom has a pistachio (spelling?) colored one, but I think I'd be a white or gunmetal gray. I actually like cooking and baking, just hate cleaning up after!
I had to laugh when I read this. I too was obsessed with this machine and finally got one the x-mas I moved into my new house. It's sat here for 2 years until I finally broke it out and made marshmallows with it a couple of weeks ago. It is magic! You will love it and hopefully use yours sooner than I did!
xo
That is not ironic at all. I am definitely not a cook either and my husband actually does most of the cooking. I will peel potatoes and preheat the oven but other that I try to stay away. However I really dream of having a huge kitchen one day with beautiful cabinets and gorgeous tile. Congrats on your Kitchen Aid stand mixer. We have one that I bought my husband for him to use. I don't go near it. :) Thanks for the wonderful inspiration!
I've always wanted on! I love the photos you picked out. How pretty is that all white kitchen with the touch of turquoise?! love it!
How exciting! As soon as I have the counter space necessary, I'd like to have one of Sally's cousins!
love kitchens
I love my kitchen aid. My husband uses more than I, but I do love the way it makes my kitchen look.
Oh man, I love that you named her Sally. There's something fun about naming inanimate objects (cars, etc).
