Blogger Book Fair: Maggie of Magchunk

Today's lovely list comes courtesy of my homie Maggie of the blog magchunk.

The Housewife's Handbook by Rachel Simhon.
Flipped through it once at Borders and loved the cleaning, the etiquette, the quaintness (but it was still practical)! Even though I'm not married... it should really be the Homemaker's Handbook!

In Defense of Food
by Michael Pollan.
Pollan is one of my favorite authors, hands down. Who else could make gardening, the food industry, and corn syrup so dry and witty? This is one of his books that I haven't read yet, and I'm dying to!

A Homemade Life: Stories and Recipes from My Kitchen Table
by Molly Wizenberg.
Maybe it's the changing of the seasons, but I've been feeling very homey and comfort-oriented lately. Adapted from her blog Orangette, this book sounds packed with recipes and food-loving stories. Sounds like a perfect addition to a cup of tea and a muffin.

Domestic Art: Curated Interiors
by Holly Moore et al.
Interior eye candy? I'm there.

Yves Saint Laurent: Style by Pierre Berge.
The pink cover had me at hello, but I'd spend hours pouring over each page of his beautiful designs and reading about the story behind his inspiring career.

Thanks for all the great suggestions Maggie. Man, my wish list just keeps growing and growing! I've been eyeing the YSL book ever since I saw his exhibit at the de Young museum last year. Another one to look out for is The Private World of Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge, which features detailed photographs of their eight lavish homes, taken last year after Laurent's death.

Stop by tomorrow to check out the selections of Leslie of a room somewhere.
