Interior Infatuation: On The Lake Traditional

I'm filing this one away in my "utterly unattainable dream home file". Don't you just hate rich people sometimes?

Gah! Those red chandeliers-can't think of their proper style name right now-but those are to die for!

Amazing staircase anyone?

How are you feeling about those nooks in the kitchen where they are holding all their fancy oils? I'm getting a bit of a bathroom shower stall vibe from it.

Can you believe those cabinets are the refrigerator & freezer? The nerve.

Dangling copper pots & butcher block-me likey.

Those seat covers gag me-but I'll take the rest.

Teetering uncomfortably into the "I'm a little bit country" style for my tastes, though I still kinda dig it.

Chandelier-check. Gorgeous fabric on slipper chair-check. Pale blue ceiling-check. Amazing lake view through massive windows-check. We're in business people!

Another glamour shot of the glorious lake view room

Now this room is where it is at! Love chartreuse anything. The rug, fabric on the chair, pillows, and see it poking through the back of the bookshelf? Very nice. I'm also very intrigued by the artwork way up there by the ceiling.

What do you all think of the place?

  1. I love the little half-door (is that called a dutch door?) to the stairway in the kitchen. And the green in that last room is pretty fab. I would definitely make a few interior changes if this were my place, but if it were my house, I'd have the money/resources to do whatever the heck I wanted, right?!

  2. wow... I'm not much for all the floral fabric, although I like the substance beneath it. The kitchen is downright dreamy!

  3. That is one beautiful house with a lot of character. We are working on our kitchen right now (nothing major) so I really enjoy looking at different kitchen designs. Do you have any ideas for decorating the walls in the kitchen where the backsplash usually goes? Eventually we want to have a backsplash installed, but until then I want to find some other way to make that part of the wall look nice. We have it painted but that is it.

  5. That kitchen! It's fantastic. I especially love that refrigerator/freezer disguised as cabinets. Great find.

  8. The staircase! Love. As a whole, this place is a bit too stuffy for me (I guess Trad Home should have tipped me off) but I love their glamourous accents. On the closed-in porch (home of the awful cushion covers) I'd love to see some chippendale chairs painted chartreuse. Yum.

  10. now that is an amazing house! I think it's a little too big for me right now, but I sure can appreciate its beauty! I have to agree with you on the last picture. That is by far my favorite room in the house. Look at all the books! I am in love.
