Confessions Of A Swimsuit Phobic

I must admit: I hate swimsuits. I hate wearing them and I also hate seeing other people in them. I mean, come on people, it's like we are walking around in a bra and panties! It's just a little bit too much information to be showing to the world ya know? Don't worry, I have worn swimsuits before, after all, it is a necessity if you like to go swimming. Which I LOVE swimming. So relaxing yet a great workout at the same time. Anyway, after having two kids I am no longer confident enough to be strutting around in a swimsuit. Even though I am finally back at pre-baby weight, my body still doesn't look quite like it used to (well hello there saggy boobs and thigh stretch marks). What about you guys? What are your thoughts on swimsuits? Am I just being a big old prude? Here are some fun ones I would wear if I still had my twenty year old body:

Michael Kors at The Outnet

Lilly Pulitzer at Zappos

Until then, you'll be seeing me in a cute little cover up on the beach like this one by Priorities at Bluefly.

  1. Really? Oh I love swinsuits! I just bought two bikinis from Victoria's Secrets website! I can't wait to see them!

  2. I just had a baby 8 months ago. I used to be a swimsuit fanatic. I put my old ones on...just for fun?! So depressing. My slight love handles and post-breastfeeding boobs just didn't accent my bikini :) I have found black to be the best option right now. I too love Victoria's secret suits...I got one for summer and love it.

  3. I love swimsuits on my daughter :)
She has a "yellow polka dot bikini!"
I want a fun suit...just to be happy in like her!

  5. The saggy boob thing is my issue at the moment. (I've decided not to even address the post baby spider veins on the back of my thighs. Since I can't see them, I'm just pretending they aren't there.) I think I'm going to go for a tankini... We'll see.

  6. I love love love love bathing suits but simply because if it's warm enough for me to suit up, it means it's summer time. So my zest for the summer far outweighs any self-consciousness I have about my body. There is no place in the world I'd rather be than on the beach. Fat be damned (not that I'm saying I'm fat, just sayin'), there's nothing that's gonna make me cover up. Except rain. Definitely rain.

  7. The post-baby body is not something to show off proudly. I'm back to prebaby weight, but I don't think I'll ever look the same (it was worth it though, no?).

  9. I completely agree with your thoughts on swimsuits. And I share your swimsuit phobia. Especially since having a baby...things just aren't where they used to (or should) be anymore. Love the coverup, though!

  10. I totally agree with you. No matter what you do, your body will not be the same after giving birth. I am afraid of swimsuits and try to avoid wearing them...
