MIA

Sorry about the light posting around here lately folks. Want to know what I have been up to?

  • Visiting pre-schools for Natalie, who will start in the Fall. What? Pre-school already? Not really mentally prepared for this yet.
  • Seriously considering homeschooling after my husband went to a "Safety at school" seminar for work-basically there is no safety at schools. Go figure.
  • Planning, crafting and cleaning for my BFF's bridal shower this Saturday.
  • Finally finished reading Anita Shreve's "The Last Time They Met" last night. Anyone read this? I am still reeling from the ending.
  • Doing a ton of weed pulling and yard work, which led to a crazy sinus infection and two massive sinus headaches this past weekend. If you don't have allergies, you are one lucky lady!
  • Spray painting some big ol' pots to color up my yard while it is still in the winter doldrums.
  • Watching Dancing With The Stars and American Idol.

I will be back to regular posting next week! Until then, check out some of the wonderful blogs on my blogroll over there to the right. Good stuff.

  1. That's quite a list! I remember searching for preschool for Jack... not a fun process. Who knew that it could be so ridiculously stressful (and time consuming!). Enjoy some time off and hope you feel better soon! xoxo

  2. I'm having the same misgivings about preschool. Hudson starts in the fall and I'm all ready getting a little teary-eyed thinking about it. Good luck with all the other things on your list. Can't wait to see how the bridal shower turns out! Oh, and check out Home Depot's garden center...they have some really cute, cheap, bright colored plastic planters right now. :)

  3. Yes I have read that book. That's the thing about Anita Shreve books - I find them so gut wrenching and they affect me for days after. Pilot's Wife and Fortune's Rocks were the same - great books, but almost life altering.
My eldest is only two and a half but the thought of school leaves me pale. Times goes quickly hey?

  5. The ending was a suprise to me. I like her books, I have a hard time remembering which was which though so I like that you posted the cover ;)
    Good luck with preschool!

  6. If I lived nearby, I would come and help you, to paint those pots, weed those weeds, craft those crafts and teach provide moral support for a Mom on the verge of pre-school angst.
Well, good luck to you -

  7. Oh, I remember the preschool process... It's so hard. I visited many and thought I must be being too picky, but when I walked in one and forgot to ask my long list of question bc it just felt so good, I knew we'd found the right one. Good luck!
