Lately I have been thinking a lot about purchasing a large art piece for either my entry or family room. I have two types in mind:
1. A large canvas with a moody wash of colors:

Because I can't seem to get this vignette out of my mind:

The black and white ocean water is gorgeous. I'm with you, in that the vignette is to die for.

I've been wanting to get the bike series from etsy seller Hillarie Taschie for a while now. I want to frame them individually and make a little gallery on the wall going up my stairs. Sigh. Someday, soon I hope!
Love that first one... I am having a painting done for me now, actually. That first one reminds me of the background she's doing - muddled browns & turquoise with a tree and some red buds. Hopefully I'll get it soon...

Oh, I love the idea of a moody wash of colors. I always buy small prints or painting. i always get so nervous to invest in anything more but I definitely need to!
I love that second image, so beautiful. I am dying for super huge photos as I have super huge empty walls in my house. Everything in time :) Hope you let us know what you finally decide.
